Part-time Jobs for Low Income Parents

Good Morning Everyone:

Illinois Violence Prevention Authority, Englewood Neighborhood Recovery Initiative and Children's Home and Aid (Lead Agency) are partnering with Antioch Community Social Service to provide part-time jobs with training through their Parent Leadership in Action Network Program (PLAN) for low-income parents in the Englewood Community. Job training starts April 11, 2011. Part-time jobs start on completion of training and ends August 31, 2011.

PARENT LEADERSHIP in ACTION NETWORK (PLAN) SELECTION CRITERIA
* Strong verbal communication skills and an ease with discussing their own experiences in
raising adolescents;

* Commitment to strengthening the community and families;

* Positive attitude and spirit, and an ability to "think outside the box" in promoting prevention
strategies in their community;

* A flexible schedule and the ability to attend meetings and conduct community outreach; * An
interest in gaining peer leadership skills;

* Live in the Englewood Community; and

* Parent between the ages of 30 and 45.
